It involves non-operative treatment for musculoskeletal injuries which include injuries to the joint, muscle, tendon, bone or ligament. Sports Medicine includes providing treatment options that work towards improving and optimizing function and performance that include treatment modes, therapeutic exercise, movement analysis as well as regenerative medicine therapies.
The goal is to help the patient recover fully and return to their beloved sport or activity without the risk of re-injury.

When a person enters the doors of SIA with a sports or physical activity related injury, our rehabilitation team conducts an analysis to understand the nature of the injury and the level of therapy required. Assessment of damage to tendons and soft tissues is done without unnecessary exposure to radiation. Following this, a treatment plan is created to help restore the patient’s movement and provide interventions to reduce the risk of re-injury.

At SIA, we recognize that proper nutritional care can differ from patient to patient depending on the phase of each person’s critical illness. The proportion of carbohydrates proteins and fats are adjusted based on the patient’s medical condition so as to ensure that their recovery process is hastened. That’s why we have our dieticians and kitchen staff working together to ensure that our Long Term ICU patients’ needs are met. We provide nutritional counselling for patients and their family members for specialized diets such as diabetic, renal, low-sodium/cardiac malnutrition etc. We also take care of the management of nasogastric tubes, PEG tubes and IV nutrition.
